Information
Rosmarinus officinalis belongs to the Labiate family and is originally from the coastal areas around the Mediterranean and has been used from time immemorial. Rosmarinus means "dew of the sea". It is a perennial half-bush which is often grown as an annual in the North. There is white-, pink- and blue-flowering variants. Pre-cultivate early. Normally, the seeds have low germination capability and sprout slowly. A light place for germination could help. Plant the seeds in light, well-drained, fertilized soil in the warmest place. Keep 25-35 cm between the plants! Rosemary can winter indoors in a cool, light space. It can also winter in an empty green house. The leaves are used for tea, (h)erbs for meat and vegetables and to improve memory. 1000 seeds/g. A portion contains about 50 seeds.
