Information

Origanum majorana belongs to the Labiate family and is originally from India and now it grows wild around the whole Mediterranean where it is a much appreciated plant since at least 3000 years. In ancient Greece it was the herb of joy and happiness. It is a perennial short half-bush but is usually grown as an annual because of poor hardiness. Harvest the leaves on a sunny day before blooming. It is very tasty in pea-soup, pizza etc. 5000 seeds/g. A portion contains about 500 seeds.
