The Steppe Sage Violettkönigin, also called West-Friesland, is a safe bet in sunny plantings. The Violet Queen blooms in the first year and then returns from year to year with its purple blooms during the summer. The height is 60 cm and the growth habit is compact, bushy and upright. It thrives best in a sunny, warm and well-drained place. It can also be grown in a pot.

Cultivation advice
Sowing
Sow indoors very shallow in spring at around 18-20 degrees.
If it doesn’t germinate, try placing it in a warmer spot for a few days, then move it back to a slightly cooler temperature.
Cold sowing also works well.
