Atomic Red

Daucus carota ssp. sativus

Is different from all other carrots because its colour is a marked dark pink, not just on the outside but on the inside too.The root grows 15-18 cm long and is a uniform, slender cone. The tops are large with wine-red highlights, occasionally. Atomic Red is good raw, but better cooked. It also keeps its rose colour after boiling, stores well. A portion has about 500 seeds.
