Belongs to the Labiate family. It is a perennial, creeping plant with light-red-violet flowers. It is very hardy to both the heat of summer and the cold of winter and creates a beautiful carpet beloved of bees among others. Wild Thyme is used as a herb in cooking but its taste isn"™t quite as strong as the common thyme (T.vulgaris). It is however a superior medicinal plant for cough, sore throat, hangover, sleeplessness, muscular pain, increased circulation of the blood, better digestion and greater resistance to infections. 7000 seeds/ g and one portion yields at least 100 seedlings. A portion has about 800 seeds.
