Information

Comes from Mexico and has a surprisingly true scent of cinnamon, excellent for herb teas and different mixtures of herbspices. This plant is dense and bushy with violet-red veins in the leaves, about 40 cm tall. The edible flowers are beautifully lavender-coloured with dark-violet high leaves. Cinnamon basil is a beautiful, decorative plant with a taste of basil which lots of people think the best. A portion contains about 400 seeds.

Cultivation advice

Sowing

Sow very shallowly indoors 6 weeks before setting out at 25 cm of mutual distance when the risk of frost is over and the soil has warmed up.

Spacing

Keep 25 cm between plants and 30 cm between rows.

Harvest through the season, either leaf by leaf of by cutting down the entire plant one or a few times throughout the season.
