Deer Tongue

Lactuca sativa var. capitata

The unusual triangular leaves are slightly crumpled and a shimmering green, sometimes with a wine-red tone towards the edge, thicker than other lettuces, but still crispy and buttery good. Deer Tongue which yields a somewhat high-built loose head is an old (1740) sort getting the highest marks from lettuce lovers for a longtime. A portion contains about 300 seeds. MOFGA-certified seed. See under Info etc. - Ecologically grown seeds.
