Cultivation advice

Sowing

The seed can be sown directly in the open field when the soil is properly warmed up (min. 15°C). It will not germinate, but will rot if the soil is cool. It is safest to start the plants indoors or in a greenhouse. Sow about 3 cm deep in pots, about 4 weeks before the estimated planting out. Keep at about 23-25 degrees until the seeds germinate. Then leave them in a fairly warm, bright and airy place. Harden them off gradually and plant out when the soil has warmed up and the risk of night frost has completely passed. Squash has sensitive roots, so be careful when planting.

Spacing

Between plants 50-80 cm and 90-130 cm between rows. The pumpkin is a climber and can become very large. Give it ample space!

Harvest

Harvest before frost harms the fruits. The pumpkin can be stored for several months. It is used in everything such as soups, casseroles, pies, desserts, marmalade and preserves.

Seed

3-4 seeds/g.
A portion contains about 4 seeds.
