Ocimum tenuiflorum (syn. O. sanctum). This is the sacred basil which is grown around the Buddhist temples in Thailand and is also called Kra Pao or Tulsi. It is a beautiful little plant of rose-purple flowers on violet stems, about 30 cm tall. Its fragrance is wonderful and the taste potent. This plant is common in Thai cuisine. Small seeds.
