Pirat, organic seeds
Lactuca sativa var. capitata
Has many names. In Germany, where it comes from, it is called both Brauner Trotzkopf and Sprenkel. It yields a compact, crispy head surrounded by clear green somewhat crumpled leaves with red-brown edges. Pirat, which has been developed from old well known Merveille des Quatre Saison, is one of the best head lettuces we have tried. It is beautiful, delicious and very slow to bloom. A portion contains about 250 seeds.
