Calendula, pot marigold Calendula officinalis
is composite and annual originally from the Mediterranean countries where it has been grown for a long time both as decoration and as a medicinal plant. It is an easy to grow, hardy flower for flowerbeds, co-planting, cutting and green manure etc. The whole plant is edible the flower included. It thrives in most soils.
