Sweet Pea
Lathyrus odoratusof the Pea family is an annual originally from Southern Italy. This is a fragrant bind-weed which prefers nutritious, sand-mixed soil in the sun, however not oftener than every 6 years because of among other things wilting disease. It must not dry out. The sweet Pea grows 150 cm tall and needs support.
SOWING: Sow in beds and borders, 2 cm deep, in May. Alternatively sow indoors in April for an extra early blooming. It can handle some frost. Keep 10 cm between the plants.
