Broccolo
Brassica oleracea var. italica/cymosa
Broccolo is a very common vegetable in northern Italy where it has been grown for centuries. It resembles a broccoli-plant with a conical, pagoda-like, yellow-green head of cauliflower where the flower-buds are placed in spirals, but it surpasses them both in flavour. Sometimes the heads can have a red-violet hue, which doesn"™t influence the taste, however. Broccolo is grown in the same way as Broccoli.
